About Emergency Preparedness
The purpose of Emergency Organization is to have the proper emergency personnel and written procedures in place so as to ensure the immediate and proper response to any foreseeable emergency in order to minimize loss of life, injury, property damage, business interruption, liability, and adverse publicity for the property and your company. Emergency Organization is the responsibility of building management and the tenant.
The Emergency Organization sections that follow will provide some of the general background information needed for you to prepare a specific Life Safety Plan for your company. All of your employees should be familiar with your company’s plan and even the smallest company should have a written plan posted in a conspicuous place, such as a break area, so that it is obvious and accessible to all of your employees.
